About

Friends of Norfolk County Youth Orchestra awards students bursaries to support the cost of the Norfolk County Youth Orchestra course.

Who can apply

Bursaries are means-tested by student household income based on the following criteria

Level      Household Income         % of course fee awarded
1              £0 - £25,000                                         100%
2              £25,001-£30,000                                 90%
3              £30,001-£35,000                                 80%
4              £35,001-£40,000                                 60%
5              £40,001-£45,000                                 40%
6.             £45,001-£50,000                                 30%
7.             £50,001-£55,000                                 20%
8.             £55,001-£60,000                                 10%
6              £60,000+                                       No Fee Waiver

For each additional sibling in the orchestra, fees will be reduced by a further 30% per sibling.

The residual household income is the total gross taxable income from the household, reducing that by the amount of Private Pension Plans, AVC’s, or other taxable allowances which is then further reduced by £1,130 for each child/student in the household who are financially dependent on the family.

Timings

Applications for bursaries will need to be made prior to a course so that the aware made may be deducted from the course fee.
